School Lunch Day 110: Apples, Cheese & Bunnies!
This was another one of those days when I hadn't been the store in a long time, but I managed to pack a decent enough school lunch with what I had in my pantry.
These lunches actually turned out better than what I thought I was going to manage. It was just another one of those days when the fridge was pretty bare, so I wasn't sure what I could pull together. This has been a rough winter, I think I've had maybe one week so far this year with all four kids at school all week. It's just been one after another with something, and when you are home with a sick kid it's a little hard to get to the store.
But I pulled this one out of my had, and I think it came out just fine. They have cheddar bunnies, apples, seaweed snacks, two cheeses, and apple sauce. It doesn't look like a lot, but my kids have all not been eating a lot lately. I think we must be between growth spurts, or just the non stop rounds of colds have just affected everyone's appetites. So, even though this doesn't look like a big lunch, they actually didn't even eat it all.
These are packed in our LunchBots containers. They are a great size when you are packing a small meal like this, or if you want to pack a snack. They come in a few configurations, we have one of the LunchBots Uno, two of the LunchBots Duo, and one of the LunchBots Trio. My favorite of the three is probably the Duo, it has a bit more structure than just an empty box, but plenty of room for flexibility. I use silicone muffin cups as dividers in the boxes.
